All of the said upcoming changes feed directly into the end of DSD! With the timeline to the end of DSD contracts being 2020, just 90 days away, the writing is on the wall!
Easy shift will be the only remnants of a Sales rep and merchandisers will be eliminated. Eventually a broker will be taking the pictures.
For over 18 months we have seen changes, yet some people still say,”business as usual”? Far from it! In two of the largest retailers we sales reps are no longer writing orders, the cornerstone of DSD! Guess those people are waiting for DSD to end, until then they will live in the state of denial! 🤣

The wheels are in motion for dad to end! It’s painfully obvious! Things are winding down. Hard to believe people don’t see what’s coming.

The value of the sales rep role will be mostly data collection , EasyShift. Say Cheese!

We're not going to stay in dsd to merchandise shelves. Money is in selling. Reps will be eliminated and so will the merchandisers. Good luck

Not really that far fetched with Walmart now writing 100% of our shelf orders. Plus with the new Kroger merchandise rules starting next week with losing most of all our Kroger displays. Not really a lot for reps to do anymore. What’s to say the cao won’t be locked out at Kroger how it is at Walmart in 6 more months. Then that’s 2 huge chains we are not writing orders at.....

Oh come on now people, quit trying to spin this 100 different ways! Don’t overthink things! It’s very easy to understand....as has been said 1 million times, DSD is ending! There is no “new DSD”!
This scenario is laughable! The power of DSD comes from selling, NOT delivering or merchandising! You are really grasping at straws with these theories! DSD is not about supplying merchandisers, or about providing a delivery service! DSD MADE money at one time due simply from “overselling” the program!! When we are not able to do so (like now), the profitability is gone!

As a nestle rep, we had too many people frontline, merchandisers, middle mgmt, and definitely analysts. Mondalez seems to have about 6 diff levels just for frontline from pt cracker stacker all the way up to whatever you call top sales reps. How many people do you need to write an order and put on shelf? Looks like a recipe fir disaster. Good luck.

I really hope this is true, yet my manager keeps telling us that everything will be staying the same. What doesn’t make sense is that we don’t service nearly as much as we used to and it doesn’t make sense to send a SR and a FTSR into the same store, so honestly why wouldn’t it change? It only makes sense. They should actually get rid of the RMS’ as they don’t do anything at all other than put out wrong schedules.

Doubt that scenario happens!! If that was the case what would happen to the FTSSR we already have? Retailers are talking dsd back. Contracts are ending. Wake up!!
