Buffalo went from 6 drivers to two drivers .. Rochester NY let go today the last day is next friday .They let two drivers go . They did give those who they let go three weeks severance pay .

Thanks for the update. Sorry for those of you who are losing jobs. The DG loss affecting jobs is expected and understandable. Still would be nice for some company-wide communication about the direction of the company. Seems like the company would want to squelch some of the wild rumors that are going around, but instead we get "don't worry about it, just do your job" or "everyone is replaceable and if you don't like it, leave". Other opportunities are definitely out there, but tougher for older folks who were used to seeing their many of their friends and family work until retirement at Dean Foods and have been loyal for years to just leave and start over at the bottom of a seniority list somewhere else. Company should at least repay that loyalty with some honest communication.
Wasn't crying. Letting other drivers know. I have another job but some didn't .. When I knew we were being let go I put resumes out . No the company didn't tell us. But others will be let go .. IF the area is mostly Dollar Gernerals ..That is why they did it here.. I don't hold Dean foods any hate.. I loved my job and the people. They have to do what they do .
Only 3 weeks severance? All newly hired drivers? Dean standard severance for hourly employees used to be 1 week for every year of service- 2 weeks minimum, 26 weeks max. Salaried was 2 weeks for every year of service up to 26 weeks max. Executives....well they were and are still getting basically enough severance for most people to live comfortably for a decade or more and in some cases (Ralphie) enough for a normal working man to retire and live like a king.
