Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Full timers now get one weekend every other month!

It's coming! All full time associates lose their monthly weekend off as rotations change. It will now be one weekend every other month.

So what will happen to the pro schedules since they have set schedules and specialist don’t work weekends anymore? Will they be involved in the new centric schedules?

I wouldn't be surprised, but given that the company is focusing heavily on pro, they probably won't touch those schedules. Pro's business does most of their volume monday thru friday and most contractors don't work weekends. The specialist and pro loaders might still have their weekends off, however millwork will still work the weekends. Receiving will still have their weekends off since they don't deal with customers and most of their work is done during the week.

Remember it’s for the customers....lmao bet Marvin has every weekend off oh wait he’s earned it right.

If you think a ceo doesn’t works 7 days a week then you’re an id–t.

customer centric schedule is 100% controlled by corporate. as one of the stores in the test market and thusly further down the road than other stores....we started out being able to edit the schedule when we had cause to do so.... but now if the store attempts to edit the schedule the store will get in trouble for it. doesnt matter how messed up the schedule is. ya'll will wish for the buddy system once the marvin system fully strangles the schedules of all stores.

If you have a good relationship with your supervisor /asm, they can make your days off consistent during the week . We do still have access to kronos

^^^^^
That’s the problem right there. The managers schedule by the buddy system. It isn’t about how hard you work, about being fair to everyone. It’s about “if you have a good relationship with your supervisor/asm”. Get out of Lowe’s let them hire more “relationships”

This is the main reason I left. No work/life balance whatsoever for anybody in the stores(unless you are in receiving, merch team, or the new admin/HR associate(I’m assuming on the last one). This along with the elimination/resurrection of positions under new names clearly tells me that they are simply thinning the herd of higher-paid hourly employees and further transitioning to a majority part-time work force.

Yep, we were in the test market. Quite a few FT’s have left. It’s just more BS and it’s exhausting — 3 out of 4 weeks/month are split days.

Also, you can’t plan ahead for vacations (and get the most “band for your buck” by wisely using those vacation days—sandwiched between say a MON/TUES & a SAT/SUN). The schedules are made only 3 weeks in advance, and vacations must be put in 1 month prior to taking. Some Managers will adjust the schedules, others won’t.
