On average since 2016 Oracle lays off more than 8,000 employees every year... with out notice in any location at any point in time. Thats an average of about 6.15% per year... obviously higher in particular divisions.
I thought it would be interesting to find a disease responsible for 6% of the mortality rate at the center for disease control.

The disease that matched the 6% mortality of the 2.5 million deaths collected by the CDC was a group known as Chronic lower respiratory diseases.
So we can think of it like this... if you work at Oracle the odds of survival or dismissal is about the same as dying from a Chronic lower respiratory disease. The disease in this case is working at Oracle where layoffs are normal.
