Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Don’t give two weeks

Don’t give your two weeks! They’ll walk you out that day! Just tell them you’re leaving the day of! Tried to do the right thing and got burned!

It is not in the contract that they have to pay you the notice. They only are required to give you 5 days notice of layoff which is why the pay the 5 days. We have seen some guys get the 2 weeks paid but they are not required.

They do pay you your two weeks notice, they just don’t allow you to work. You’ll also be paid for vacation you didn’t use and the weeks you qualified for next year.

That is not accurate. They will not pay you once u resign. They will pay you 5 days pay if they lay you off

Change the date on your resignation paper two weeks out. Your fault for not looking into it before marching in to quit. If you sign it the day of, that’s when you stop getting paid.
