Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

In disrepair

I start working for Deans Foods in 2011 and that was around the time they we starting to sell of parts of the company. But even then we were able to run and produce milk actually have management that were hard A**es but made sure the company keep running but the last 3 years it really be apparent that the 'New Management' are trying to run the company into the ground its a free for all nobody is doing their jobs correctly cutting corners showing up whenever and no discipline other then well have a talk with them.we lost 30,000 gallons of milk because of a old clamp keep being over tighten and finally gave out and still no one was held accountable. we have reworked 3 times ice cream mix that was contaminated with chemicals until you could hardly taste it and they shipped it out. I no longer trust the brand and will never buy any of the products out of fear it my harm my family. The equipment it in total disrepair and the only parts we have are from machine we don't even have anymore. we struggle to keep charts and gaskets in stock and we are not able to rotate gasket because of this. we have had a lot on management turn around lately as well but still the same disorder regardless. It seem like 2020 we be the last year for dean foods i don't see a business model be sustainable for much longer. Just found the plant I work for it being used as collateral which is hilarious talk about screwing over the lender. At least we know dean's screw everybody not just customers and employees. only advice I can give is to keep your resumes updated and ready. I'm personally wanted til the new year to start looking for employment elsewhere.

The same Le Mars plant that back in 2013 when the receiving bay op hooked up the tanker wrong and s—ed/crushed the tanker like a pop can. And guess what???? Guy still kept his job. No reprimand.

Who cares anymore. Ship is sinking and all people gone anyway. Let them worry about it, more talk about how we are already done coming from sworn to quiet order, my supervisor told me so

Lots of plants were put up as collateral for the latest loan restructure. Splitting accounts receivable off into something that the lawyers think won't be able to be touched by creditors if bankruptcy occurs also done about the same time. In past loans would have been used for acquisitions. Now borrowing money just to pay bills. I too remember the days when quality was one thing that wouldn't have been compromised no matter what the implications financially might have been. Scary to think that the one thing you could always depend on being taken seriously (quality) isn't any more.
