I know Humana is a terrible company and treats its employees horribly, I am not disputing that, but....
Let's pull back for a look at the bigger picture. What's going on is by no means isolated to Humana.
Here's a quick, far from comprehensive sample of very recent layoffs. By no means is this the total, and it's still frightening.

You know it's real, and bad, when Monster.com writes an article called "Prepare For a Layoff in Healthcare"

I've noticed the layoffs happen in phases, so the companies can report "2% Of Staff Layoffs" which sounds meaningless, but like Humana, that 2% is only one phase, and when you add all the layoffs, the total is getting much larger than 2%
I know many will be scared or angered by this, and my intention is not to scare or anger you, it is to show you that this is not isolated to Humana. I am in no way defending Humana's awful treatment of its workers, as layoffs can be handled well or poorly, a company does not need to treat people like dirt when they're laying them off, as Humana does.
