This has got to be the most poorly thought out lay-off yet. We’ve been through a number of layoffs over the years but the stressful nature of this announcement needs to go down as a study for “how not to lay a bunch of people off” section. Every meeting invitation in the organization brings anxiety and pain because people are still waiting to hear if they’ll have a job come January. Sadly, I’m not surprised because management positions are based on who’s who or if your dad knew my dad and qualifications take a back seat.

I got sent a meeting invite to join for a one on one with my manager then I log on the call my manager was too much of a little pansey to say a single word instead he let some random hr chick tell me after 20 years working here your layed off have no respect for this piece of sh– company
You know what? Companies like AT&T and Vz lay off and outsource EVERY year and kids coming out of school today would still choose to work for them. 1) The pay is great, 2) Great words for the resume, 3) good benefits including tuition assistance, certifications, medical bennies and 401k matches - and most kids today don't plan to spend their entire career at one company. They move around every 3-5 years, so they figure they are pretty safe from layoffs and if not, they just move on. Kids today don't have the same career mindset as those of us starting out 30 years ago.
If I was looking for an insurance company for Medicare etc. , I would not use Humana. Huge layoffs at open enrollment.. would scare most Medicare members
There’s something about this one... it’s like Humana has become the new AT&T of the 90s. I am not sure if AT&T ever fully recovered but when companies have a reputation for consistent RIFs, when given the choice, you don’t choose them. Ultimately they’re going to need to reinvent themselves... paying the CEO 22 mil while the employees can’t afford to visit a doctor doesn’t seem quite right. To those of us let go, congratulations on better health insurance.
Do you all not remember last year when we had to wait an entire three weeks? This is nothing
I completely agree. RIF’s are never easy - but this one has been pure torture. The way that it was implemented did not reflect the values of Humana. Someone needs to be held accountable for this PR disaster.
