It’s hard not to take a lay-off personally, but it related to the direction the company is planning on going and does your department Or skills fit in the direction. If it’s financial, program related or ability, that’s the bottom line. It’s sad, and I was part of the RIF, and it’s not me, it’s Humana. Which is to say, my role isn’t needed in the model they are trying to achieve. I’ve got a great skill set, I’ve learned lots from Humana working here for years, and I’m going to work on my resume this weekend....no company will pay as much as Humana does, they are generous with salaries, but I can easily say at an interview with a new employer what happened, and it doesn’t reflect poorly on me, my skills or what I offer

So you were not actually laid off, you were terminated (to the lady let go on the 13th). Being RIF'd did not hurt me at all when applying for other positions outside of Humana. I live in Louisville and many of the people I work with have worked for Humana at one time or another and understand RIFs are part of working in that environment. When I went to work at Humana my previous boss said, I hope it works out better for you than me, she was RIF'd after about 7 years.. same for me in 2018. My friend started working there last year right after I was RIF'd and I said the same to her. She was impacted this week. I liked working there, I miss many of my co-workers, however there is life after Humana.
To the poster that got laid off on Friday the 13th with no severance. Humana policy is to provide a 60 day notice and severance of two weeks per year of service. We’re you a temp, VSP or contractor ? Did they provide paperwork???

They laid me off with no severance on friday the 13th. It's hard to be axed this time of year. I hope they enjoy their holiday while I'm applying for medicaid.
You make a lot if you got 10k bonus! Maybe it's not the 22 million that the rest of us make but hey you do well!
Per the generous salaries, for me its not THAT generous. I'm technical and at my level of experience, it is about market value. The bonuses or AIPs are nice though, that I will admit. Last years 10k was well received by me.
I appear to be one of the lucky ones, I will not be cut.
