Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

How little must they think of us

Honestly, to handle this whole thing this badly? With absolutely no consideration for any of us or how this whole wait affected the entire workforce? I guess we are really THAT insignificant to them.

There were so many ways to handle this better. But I guess they didn't care enough to try any of those.

They truly think very little of their professional staff. Totally expendable. Their only loyalty is to shareholders. Not patients, not care managers, not social workers, or anyone else. Hire and fire every November

Should have asked if anyone wanted early retirement

I am working for this company for 8 years now and it has now every year practice to fire people at the end of the year - during holidays. Workforce reduction is just a new name to rotate experience persons with inexperienced ones with low salaries. They don't much care for their associates and treat them as liabilities.

Humana is 70% Contracting and 30% associates and they are reducing 2% from the associates.

I guess their "family first" comments are coming true by giving 2% of employees more time to spend with family.

It will impact their ability to hire. People will be afraid to work there now. It happens too often.
