Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

It's the entire Humana

Which would make around 800 people, if I'm not mistaken. And now that we know how many, wouldn't it be great if we could find out when and who? Just waiting while knowing this is happening is pure torture. Talk about being unnecessarily cruel to your employees...

Does anyone know if all of Medicare Case Management is being laid off beginning Jan. 2, 2020? Has Case Management been outsourced to Navi Health? I just wish Humana could be more upfront with people. 60 days may seem like a lot to find another job but it’s not. It sometimes takes a month or 2 just to get an interview at some places.

What case management programs? Are they pilot programs?

It looks like they are being more honest with their employees in FL. We know there are more lay offs coming in Case Management in 2020 but we keep being told that management has no idea what’s going to happen in 2020. The writing is on the wall, Case Management is being outsourced.

The 'article':

"Health insurance giant Humana is cutting its workforce by more than 800 people in Louisville and across its operations in several states.
The Louisville-based company confirmed plans Monday to trim its payroll by 2% by the end of the year. Some employees were notified that the pink slips would be handed out this week, and most would learn their fate by Thursday, spokeswoman Kate Marx said in a prepared statement.
"Humana announced a series of measures scheduled for 2020 and beyond aimed at improving productivity and positioning the company for long-term, sustainable success. These measures are in alignment with broader efforts started earlier this year to evaluate the work and cost structure of the organization," according to the statement. "Some of this work has resulted in involuntary staff reductions."
Humana is preparing to report its third-quarter earnings on Nov. 5, so the layoffs are expected to be part of the discussion about the company's plans. "

Needless to say, blessings, y'all..... you may just enjoy life again once you are free. I remember hearing them go on and on about the 2020 initiative–guess what? RIF is part of it. It is all about the $$, the stockholders and president. Take care of yourselves, GET OUT even if you aren't part of the RIF.... and live again.

OP how about none of your business if it doesn't impact you or your team? You do realize those impacted are still being notified and as someone who IS impacted I feel like you're need to know who is irrelevant and ridiculous. And as for when, we get the usual 60 day notice as everyone else before has.

I'm in utilization mgmt, and we already know that many of our post acute nurses and coordinators will get "reassigned" or laid off due to NaviHealth contracts for SNF cases. But I'm wondering if that is part of the 2%, or something else, because we were told about it about a month ago.
