There's just about nothing a person does in a bank that a computer can't do, and frankly, do it better. Bankers have never been known for their winning personalities, to the contrary actually, and so these changes are that much easier to make due to the public having no love lost for bankers.

Oh, and then there's this little tiny problem of banks being levered to the gills with toxic, defaulting debt, which according to a prominent consulting firm will see the insolvency of over half the world's banks.

Yes, consolidation in the banking industry on a grand scale. Who would;ve ever conceived of such a thing?
