Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Term of employment

This site has a wealth of great information with regards to layoffs, benefits etc and what and how to get your benefits from the T. My question is not about a layoff but sorta related for others to know. Question is, why on Fidelity statement does it show and active date of employment and a Term of employment date? They are 3 mths difference in time.

Vesting Date is the date you started with the company, Term of Employment Date is your Net Credited Service (NCS) date, which includes LOA, if you left company and came back or other cases similar to that.

I’ve taken a leave of absence before but I don’t see that on the Fidelity statement. I’m only seeing the TOE date and the vesting date.

have you gotten on the phone with HR and Fidelity at once? My direct dealings with Fidelity have been quick and concise; press for a conference call so everyone can explain it to you.

Was this your 401K statement or a pension statement? The Fidelity reps are pretty useless when it comes to pension questions, although they are really helpful when you want to invest money.

perhaps, when you were hired, the policy was not to vest you immediately in the savings program. Or perhaps you simply did not enroll immediately when you were hired?

I am viewing the quarterly statement from Fidelity. I have mine sent to me by paper instead of online. It shows my 401K, pension plans

Term of employment is your NCS date. I have never heard of the active date of employment. Where are you seeing this on Fidelity?

Maybe you had a leave of absence which could have been subtracted from your total
