Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I would have been better for everyone if they have just been honest with us

Everybody knows it already, why don’t they just come out and say it. They want a lesser workforce that consist of part timers and minimum pay employees. If they have been up front about this,it would have given the employees time to switch into a job searching mode and get out on their own. It’s easier to start looking when you know that you’re not wanted at the company. Instead they preach fake values that are not practiced and have gotten people in a mode where they think that this will stop at some point. The truth is it will never stop until the company workforce consists of p;art timers and cheap youngsters. There is really no point in giving people false hope.

Just lie and do as little as possible just like corporate does! Empty promises of getting the tasks assigned done is all they want. They dont care if it actually gets done, by whim, or how well, just that someone was "supposed" to do it.

Dont you people get it? No one cares! No one is in charge. You can literally do whatever you want. Walk around, lie, and posture. Thats all corporate does so follow their lead.

If you want a management job, you need to bold face lie, deceive, manipulate, and sugar coat t–ds. I go to my superiors - both store and corporate - with big issues , ideas, etc and every time they simply spray whipped cream on dog chit and say, "all fixed."

I got 3 new cc's yesterday and 2 solid pse leads and guess what? No one said a fkkn word! Theres no point to any of it. The 3 customers wont be serviced, and no one gives AF! The PSE wont call the leads, and al 5 will be so frustrated they'll simply never come back.

Lowe's is leaderless. A ship lost at sea, with no captain, in a storm, with no compass or steering wheel. Anyone who thinks we have managers, or corp people in charge are blind. No one is in charge.

Employees in my store come and go as they wish. Call out every week, late. Red boxed every day for months. They walk around. Talk to freinds. On phones. Hide in bathrooms. No one gives AF! Management knows, and is told daily, and they just go hide in AP office, or ASM office.

Cmon people.. Lowes. LOL - Its bs retail. They "motivate" to get "more" like cheerleaders. Cheerleaders run lowes. That is all.

15 year employee, 10 year Pse and one if top ever for company. Had to call it for stability of my family and yes Lowe’s is extremely toxic. Marvin Ellison is a hedge fund puppet who is taking a wrecking ball to what was once a great company. People think I’m crazy walking away from the money i was making...I’m not, unlike Marvin i have actual morals.

There is NO doubt the game plan has been workforce elimination from his first day!

Even the recent Name Tag change to a generic label is but another step in demoralizing the tenured employees.

The goal is to keep pushing tenured employees until they resign. The new schedule will thin out most people. The rest will be terminated.

Lowe’s is now a Toxic Employer!!!

Ive been with Lowe's since 2010. They have NEVER been honest. Never.
Ive worked in 5 stores. Thats 5 different Human Resources, 5 different Store Managers, and 20 ASM'S.

There were but a handful of decent ASM's in there. But all others were lying, manipulative, controlling, misleading, and dishonest dirtbags.

They toe the corporate policy, no matter how unethical to protect their own "gratuities" and kick backs / perks. They are spineless, with no education to even confront unethical issues on a professional level.

Lowe's was a busch league company all along. But today, under this pseudo, God loving clown, its simply a joke. Customers know it, all employees know it, and even his corporate guys are aware of it.

We have no staff, yet management will bold-face lie to you. They will say they arent budgeted hours or staff. So we contact our corp reps and they say yes, your store is budgeted! Its all lies. If you are management, you are a liar if you work for Lowe's. Plain and simple.

We should be called Unethicalowes Depot.

“Processes and plans” from all those years ago at a Depot will only keep us going backward in this rapidly changing world of retail. It is a completely different ballgame now from his Depot days.

all this adds up to marvin using christianity to hoodwink his workforce into not seeing him for the snake that he is. just look at the christmas card he sent the entire workforce last december. thousands of employees then expressed hope for the future and felt he cared so much about everyone because it was the first time the lowes ceo sent out a card...he even wished prosperity in the coming year....and then you fast forward to today and hes cut tens of thousands of jobs and reduced hours in stores. hes nothing more than a snake in the grass.

whole entire article was how he was going to copy cat HD because he has no original ideas and continuously said he was going to cut labor cost and eliminate cashiers in favor of self checkout lanes. i find it ironic that they are having cashier appreciation at the same time reports are flooding in that self checkout is going into stores that didnt have them.

i remember reading the article at the time and even to the industry it was known he has no ideas...his sole job is to play the villian and just use what he was taught at HD. once he has implemented all the changes and the entire workforce hates him they will bring in someone new to give the employees hope once again that that era is behind them. problem is the new guy wont undo the pain.

No point in them paying out unemployment or dropping their stock price overnight either. If it weren't for either of those things I honestly think they would lay off 40% of store associates over the period of a month or so.
