Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

In a surprisingly cynical and ruthless move USbank decided to make a "Staffing Overhaul" at all branches and operations centers this week. Claiming to replace "non-customer facing" employees such as Assistant Branch Managers and Teller Coordinators with a new customer facing workforce, and claiming that they will be offering training and new positions that deal with customers. This is total lie and spin story, Assistant Branch Managers engage and have face to face transactions of every kind all day long, including doing loans, opening accounts, wire transactions, cash transactions, important management decisions, etc...same thing for the Tellers! USbank has so understaffed the branches that nobody is non-customer facing, this is just double talk brainwashing to justify their move. The worst part of their lie is that many people I know, who were long term and very experienced employees were promoted from within to become Assistant Branch Managers within the last few months, even up until last month. This was obviously a move to eliminate higher paid employees and replace them with part time, no benefit positions. I personally know 5 people who are losing their jobs because of this, 3 of whom were hired as Asst branch Managers within the last few months. The only new positions that have opened up since the Layoff are part time, no benefits, and the hard working people I know who are Assistant Branch Managers are totally screwed by the company! Not just branches got screwed, many operation center jobs and whole departments were eliminated and outsourced too. Watch out, I'm quite certain there will be more bad news from USbank to come. The stockholders will be thrilled, but the people who work hard trying to support their families are cast aside like trash!
