Corporate-owned stores are going away. Dealers do all the work, and take on all the risk. Verizon just collects the check. High quotas and such are a way of wringing the last few dollars it can out of the public and its stores/employees before they close it up, and a dealer opens up in the same space in less than 24 hrs. Literally overnight. This has happened, and will continue to happen until there are no more corporate-owned locations. In case you haven't seen the writing on the wall yet, here it is.

You can believe the OP or not, whether you like to hear it or not that is exactly what is happening. Sure Indirects would prefer a Next Gen store but I've seen them take over plenty that were not Next Gen.

As the OP said there will be smaller corporate stores left in metro areas. They just don't want the cost overhead in areas that aren't as profitable. There's no shame in that other than the employees they are cutting.

The Succasunna Store just got remodeled, they have an area just used by the number 1 slammer in the company, and they have classes on how too use the Bill payment machine, this is a sixth month course for the customers and 3 college credits. They have a sit down area furnished like a game show so the reps can guess what the customers Apple password and logins are, after they guess they look down and see the content restoring , they get extra points by holding the customers hand and saying everythIng will be fine. and lastly an area were people come in with unopened fedex boxes were the reps show them how too read instructions , this is 2 credit course and only takes 3 months, they have new area were bewildered customers talk to managers on how a jet pack got on their account for $10 a month with a copy of the quote tool given to them at time the sale. This location will never become a indirect because they couldn't send them to a corporate store were they do everything!

Beaver Valley got remodeled. That place is like throwing hot dogs down a hallway.

Big Log still has not been remodeled they say it is too hard.

Not true....some corporate stores will stay. There is a cost to remodel. So, Corp are remodeling to make it more cost effective for an indirect agent to take over. Big 6 is growing every day
