Get ready to be sold.
The rename may be based on moving "consumer" service employees to a new company for a future sale to another company. All of the big 4 telecom companies are in the process of selling off their consumer accounts to smaller localized communications companies due to high overhead for low profit. Frontier, AT&T and CenturyLink are currently working with the FCC on getting approval to make this transition.
They are probably just shuffling company names around for accounting purposes they changed ours a couple years ago for no real reason and it didn’t affect us except the 2 w2s.
VCM was the pre 2.0 Verizon Consumer Markets org. It is now part of the post 2.0 Verizon Consumer including Retail and Wireless Wholesale led by Ronan Dunne.
I got the notice as well. I’m in the consumer group (formerly wireless).

seems like many folks in VCM organization received a notification from payroll team about a company change to Verizon Services Organization LLC. Change is effective November. Payroll details will change but benefits etc are the same as today. Not sure what this means but email was very vague. We will be receiving 2 W2s at the end of the year.
Is the 35 weeks max severance being reduced?
