Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Ok...hearing an offer coming in November....but which type is it ? IPP/EIPP/EISP.?

If I remember right the basic IPP was like $1100/yr, the enhanced IPP (EIPP) was $2200/yr +$10k, and the Special Enhanced IPP (EISP) was $2200/yr +$10k +$40k(which happened in 2016 here) ...of course different regions and titles could receive different packages I suppose...just curious what people were told and what regions they’re in....

Some say no package, some say there is. Either way, those who claim no package know as much as those who say there is.. some claim union notified, truth is, no one knows and I'll trust a statement with a actual name attached over a anonymous statement with a bit of proof. Those looking to leave based on a offer can only hope, those not caring looking to stay is irrelevant. That said, IMO, if you dont hear anything before October 31st.. it most liky will not happen this year. A gatt rate increase takes effect Jan 1st, can always look at that as a ISP if anyone really wants to go, if ellegable.

I am hearing of no package offer this calendar year. The company would like to eliminate a number of clerk type jobs but as far as tech titles, that is not in the cards this year If by the chance the information is not 100% accurate any offers will be limited and targeted in nature. Sorry for the bad news for all that are ready to go. Hang in there.

I’m eligible to go, and the attached waiver that goes with an enhanced IPP means no early penalty. But... at this point we’re all Charlie Browns to the posters’ Lucy. If anyone out there heard something more solid than fifth hand hearsay, that would be something to share. Anyone can post random guesses. It might be time to quit it, though. Thx in advance.

Agree with NBX response, looks more promising under contract if no talk of negotiations, ( as of now ).
If it is to come to fruition, those considering to leave, should to to a financial investment firm about retirement now, to have time to mull it over, with all possible situations of any said offer ( IPP vs EISP etc) that may come.

A special Eisp The company they do not have to negotiate with the union they could put one out a year. All others they have to talk to the union about it. So far they haven’t talked to the union, just a verbal and will put it in writing in October. So right now it looks like it may be a special eisp?
