Anyone else hear any rumors on a business travel freeze? Sounds like cost cutting measures are starting up again

Maybe they're getting laid off so they don't have to move them.
What about the 3000 employees coming form GPS Pontiac to Warren?
Powertrain is closing and all of those people are coming to Warren right?
Finance has given some our team adjusted cost cutting targets for 2020. Only way we'll meet those is through less employees, which I think was the message. This place makes me sick.
If they're going to have layoffs, I wish they'd just do it and get it over with.
The waiting just ruins morale.
But I bet they're going to wait a month or two and blame salaried layoffs on the union strike and all the money GM lost because of it, even though they were planning layoffs all along.
Oh - I thought by “travel freeze” you meant SB VanDyke starting around 7:00 a.m.
Converting to open office IS a cost cutting measure.
They can pack more people into the space.
If they have two buildings, they might be able to squeeze everyone into one, and give up one building.
GM is shrinking and will be smaller by the time they are done with cost cutting... GM will never open a new plant in usa. its too expensive... $30/hr plus benefits... vs $11/day in mexico... do your calculations
Remember, this is GM. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.
Cost cutting? Heard they are still doing the stupid conversions to open office project.
If it's in December, hopefully it'll be the first week so if I get laid off I'll have had time to get used to it by Christmas.
Plus I won't buy expensive gifts.
More layoffs coming in December, I heard from my director.
GM is not a company to be working for, zero future.
Zero cars
Zero management skills and creative output on well, everything they touch.
