Yep, can't innovate with real new products so iterate the old ones. Mainframe is the cash sow, so accelerating the next generation may keep the money flowing to hide real results....for a while. Same as relying on early ELA renewals to bring in more cash. Eventually the pyramid scheme collapses and you can't borrow from the future anymore.
