In protest of the meeting, because nothing ever comes true, or if it does, it stops after a few weeks; I stayed home.
If you went, what news does corporate funnel down to us peasants?

They don't even let us clock in for these meetings. We sign an attendance sheet and they do it all manually... And our stupid meeting is ALWAYS 2 hours, why is ours so much longer!?
In protest yet on here begging for info about it lmao..... That is even more pathetic than actually going.
that is correct. here in NY, ft'ers MUST be scheduled for at least 4 hr shift .
lowes are unethical. they must follow laws, but do everything possible to never tell employees or blatantly not follow them and play stupid.
but, nation wide, they cannot force you with "mandatory" all store meetings on days off .. they cant make you come in at 6 am for 1 hr, then back again at 9 for a full shift ... and who cares anyway.... ????
are they gonna fire you? you can only hope they do because it would be a blessing!
Lowes policy still states that if you are scheduled for a shift less than four hours, you are not required to show for it, which is why all meetings are really not mandatory. And as far as I know, policy has not changed on that. I looked at it when scheduling a cashier meeting.
The new rule is 4 a year. One every quarter. a lot of the employees at my store are getting NCNS because they didn’t come to the meeting. We communicate a lot on the sales floor.
I read on here someone said 4 meetings a year also.
I was told that we are suppose to be having a store meeting every quarter.
I went, big waste of time, what were told could of been handled in an email.
I went, big waste of time, poor food- donuts and fake oj. They did fire the loader that lights up; happened before the meeting. We saw him in the parking lot, not at the meeting, the buzz was he was fired before the meeting.
"Actually under the FLSA there is no minimum requirement for hours worked so you can be scheduled for a 1 hour or 2 hour shift."
Depends on State Law, too, some have a minimum 3 hours.
Some also mandate time and a half for working on Sunday.
Different states have different laws regarding this. Also different companies have different policies which usually try to encompass all state law when possible. I believe NYC has the 4 hour min shift.
Actually under the FLSA there is no minimum requirement for hours worked so you can be scheduled for a 1 hour or 2 hour shift.
What corporate or store managers won't tell you is .... It's illegal to schedule full time employees for 1 hour. They have to pay you BY LAW a 4 hr minimum. Don't punch out, and demand 4 hrs pay.
THAT is why it's not mandatory, despite dkkhead managers phrasing it that way. More lies and unethical behaviors from management.
