Every trainting you do should be towards outside opportunities as the whole pivoting for AT&T is busy work.
Stop doing central office work and all the other non sense. I see so many people that got laid off and have a hard time finding a job because their options are limited despite a very nice stem degree.
"Pivot". Funny. In 2017 and 2018 every other word out of leadership's mouth was "pivot". Haven't heard it in a while now. In fact, much of the type of work that one might have "pivoted" towards has been pivoted right out the door, along with many employees.
Any decent jobs will/have probably be contracted out and/or be management. You can see that already. You don't have to wait until 2020. Jobs that require a college degree and usually management. That is one way to get rid of the union.

Our third line loves to promote the Company " training " for things like Cloud, Business Analytics, Data Statistical Analysis, etc. etc. ( All Telecom related material that I'll never get the chance to work with. )
What the man doesn't understand is when you or your group is selected for layoffs, the Company doesn't care what training or expertise you may have.
Even more amusing is we are specifically forbidden to take said training during working hours, yet they state they won't pay the overtime if we take it outside of work. ( Labor Laws probably have something to say about that one )
Good advice aren’t some of the technologies you mentioned going to ibm and Microsoft? I don’t even think those are safe.
