Home Depot was on my store recruiting the sales specialist, offering to match what they were making before Marvin took away their allowance. Several have already set up interviews, looks like more out the door at my store!

Anonymous is right—what you are seeing at Lowe’s is either happening or already has happened at most big retailers. The eliminating of positions and then ‘resurrecting’ them under different titles to force long term employees being paid high hourly wages to quit/be layed off is going on everywhere. I recognized this two years ago and GOT OUT—not just from Lowes, but big box retail altogether. It’s only going to get worse, as Amazon and the “On Demand” economy continues to put pressure on retailers to compete for shopping dollars. If you choose to stay in retail, you are going to continue to be asked to accomplish more tasks with fewer resources in order to take more cost out of the stores and increase efficiency.
Please remember HD had the good sense not to put that piece of dog s*it in charge.
If you think going to Depot is the right move, please remember that all the changes taking place in Lowes since Carvin Marvin came on board are carbon copies of how Depot operates.
Get out of retail in general!
