I see a lot of people think if you work in one of the countries with cheap labor, you are safe. Well, you are wrong:
I thought Slovakia was safe but they got hit with all the rest of us being shipped off to IBM on Sept 1st. We were all over worked and under staffed. It didn’t matter, the reaper came for everyone...

As it turns out, not all of the Slovakia folks are going over, a group that worked for us are staying with AT&T after we go to IBM. We're taking back the work they were doing and bringing it with us, so we've got that going for us.
The IBM outsourcing was unlike past ones to IBM where we kept back architects, mgmt and the folks who do business requirements - this time it was everybody associated with a system - along the lines of the DevSecOps model and included contractors and offshore att employess. If the slovakia crew is low cost then its probable they last at IBM longer then the high cost on shore folks
It makes sense that Slovakia got hit, a lot of the offshore AT&T employees there are TechDev, and Techdev was butchered, and they're still carving on that carcass
