AT&T TV Streaming Service: by getting rid of the DirecTV Now brand name, I think AT&T is in the early stages of dumping DTV for good (if they can find someone to buy it). When AT&T made the mistake of acquiring DTV, the genius leaders at AT&T decided to slow down and get rid of the legacy AT&T U-verse IPTV service. I think by dropping the DirecTV brand name for their OTT streaming service, AT&T is positioning the company to slowly detach AT&T from DirecTV and dump it if they could find a buyer for this losing DBS service.

DISH is getting into Cell service. They aren’t going to buy our garbage.
Dish and DTV would be like 2 typewriter companies merging in 1979. The gov doesn't care.
I am sure they already have a tentative deal in the works with Dish, but they know it will be a tough sell to the feds because it will create a true monopoly.

These folks should be in jail for ruining lives, not just fired. They are criminals.
First loss is your cheapest... hopefully they sell DirecTV off and get out from under some more debt
To answer your question as to why those who lose a laptop are fired, but not Randy and the gang when they destroy billions of dollars of capital, you have to remember that this is AT&T. All workers are treated equally, it's just that some executives are more equal than others.

I agree - they will keep the DirecTV name for the satellite service and hope to sell it - their video service will be an OTT streaming service and will not have anything to do with DTV and this is why they are starting to use ATT TV name ....
Yep that’s the first thing I thought too. Directv will remain the satellite part of the business and be spun off to Dish possibly.
