Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Reading the reply below. A lady friend of mine worked at Lowe’s from around 2000 to 2011 she was making around $110k a year selling appliances. Spiffs were in the $100’s for French door refrigerators. She sold a few complete kitchens each weekend and holidays $$$$$$ routinely sold $100k in appliances for thousands in spiffs.

I'm also doing decent on the new bonus program but I hustle. I put pretty much anything over $200 in my name. And I can sell in my 2 former dpts too. I've averaged $400/ month additional each month last quarter. I also max out my 401k. I've finally landed in a good store. Management makes a huge differance. I've worked a store where I was miserable. And I never had spiffs or commission. That would be nice. Oh well. If I get tired of Lowe's I now know I can go get a commission job somewhere else.

Not nearly enough. No matter what you make one thing is certain you will find someone who does less work and makes more money than you.

I make 15 as an lns in a 45 mill store.

I made $18 in appliances no allowance. Never worked under commissions/spiffs. But was told prior to 2012 , you could easily make $50,000/ year in appliances.

I was a specialist in

I came with experience as a contractor and as a salesperson. I made 16.75 an hour to start and never ever heard anything about spiffs.

Was the SM ripping me and others off?

depends on store too. 50 mill stores pay more than lower stores.
sales specialists in my 45 mill store start at 21, with ZERO experience ..
and pro specs are top of the specialists ..

PSE specialist makes 60 to over 100k. Others make 35 to 60k or more depending on how much soon-to-be-stolen-away allowance they receive.

the quick answer is much much less than the specialists were making 7-10 years ago

I personally knew of two specialists in our store that made in the mid $20.00/hr range with their allowance. Back when they were on spiffs it was well known they made more than anybody else in the building except the store mgr.
