Dates and planning differ by org, but their goal is to remove US payroll workers by November 22. Then, some orgs will have option to replace headcount with Slovakia and India workers. Makes way for greedy Randall et al to get some bigger bonuses cause they aren’t raping this company enough already. Shame on them! Greed.

@10uGgR8r-ysi are really clueless. Yes Randy and his boys have made some horrible business decisions. But where was ATT pre 2006 merger? On the ropes. Are you not old enough to remember a mo–n named Mike Armstrong who bought TCI, NCR and then had to sell them? Who spun off ATT Wireless int he days when wireless companies were printing money? It would seem that Randy and his ilk never learned from Mike Armstrong’s bad decisions. They repeated them!!!! Amazing.
Anyway it would appear VZ made the right decision to focus on wireless. But they too have heavy debt from the buyout of Vodaphone.
RIF, reduction in force, layoff, surplus,,,, all have the same meaning,,, how would a Verizon person know anything about them moving jobs to India and Slovakia?
Yeah we normally just call them layoffs or cuts. I have heard force reductions and reductions in workforce but never RIF

How greedy Randy and his minions destroyed this company will be taught in business schools decades from now, maybe they will even write a book on it: "How to Destroy a Great Company While Enriching Yourself" ... AT&T was founded in 1879 and was the motherload of inventions and innovations... T made possible a lot of the advances in computer and information technology that everyone enjoys today.. they came from this once great company. Because of the utter incompetence and short-sightedness of this so called AT&T management. the rank and file employees who have sacrificed and worked for many years/decades are now being thrown out like worthless trash. It is one thing to cut costs to survive , but these Mgmt actions are pure evil and have been in the plans for many years now, they have no qualms executing this grand plan to hollow out this company, and ride out its demise .. it is pure greed, pure evil, and wanton disrespect of AT&T's storied legacy.. they are laughing on their way to the bank, first rate a–holes ...
