Words out to all the other vendors and stores about our Wm situation. I’m asked several times a day as of this week what’s going on with our company.. my response is why what have you heard you got some info for me that I don’t have ?? Wouldn’t be surprised! We’re the last to hear anything. Apparently Snyder, pep, and even small vendors are all freaking out about OUR Wm situation and are scared they’re next but they all already have us written out the door.

We are required to do date checks once a week in some accounts. I'd say that's a sign. Don't want too many credits when it ends...
Lazy DM’s burned the company in the past! People don’t care anymore, writing on the wall! Stores still care! As long as the DM’s were hitting objectives they didn’t care, even of that plan to achieve included pallets of rotting product!! Stores have had enough, even if Mondelez hasn’t! Product loading and managerial neglect, if there is anyone to blame.....
I guess we can tell ourselves that ..never in my years have I ever seen a mandatory one throughout
My whole division just had mandatory date checks at all Kroger’s on all product ..Again a small thing but another process in the transition.
I agree! Mondelez will ride it out till contracts expire to use the time to make it as smooth as transition as possible, but will need less time once they come clean and announce our departure. All benefits Mondelez! This time in between they will have less of an issue with people quitting and if they do it will be less time to worry about!
Managements attitude should be very telling! Management stopped caring years ago!! Pathetic!!
Remember nabisco had Kellogg’s/Keebler to model in this transition . That’s why I think it is smoother and less time frame ...cao orders, many resets that eliminate and cut down product months in advance , locked edi already have taken place , easy shift and Walmart voilt already in place for the rep who has 30 stores in the new structure , will make the transition smoother and less then 6 months notice like Keebler I believe
All the steps are being done to eliminate dsd! It may appear otherwise to some, but everything is being done to move towards a warehouse model! Dsd is just no longer cost effective, period!
I think they are trying to make our DSD operation as efficient as possible as a last ditch effort to reduce the costs of DSD so it looks like we still add value to the company and the stores. The problem is we don't really add value anymore, displays and pricing all come from up above and you have to fight just to get what you're called out for most of the time. Plus the stores don't care about any of that, they want control and lower prices to compete with online retailers.
So I think the previous post is correct but I think both options are happening. They are trying to be as efficient as possible but are also setting up for an exit, and then they can tell us they did everything they could, but the cost benefit of DSD isn't worth it and the stores don't want it anymore either.
I believe that answer is very obvious, and has been for years! People have done everything humanely possible to bury their heads in the sand! It’s pathetic to hear them cry about, “whoa is me”, “I’m losing my job”! DSD is no longer a wise investment. Retailers will make more money without dsd, collecting on slotting fees etc. DSD IS NOT FREE LABOR! Take responsibility! You cannot control what happens, only how you handle what happens! This sets people apart!!
The ONLY question that remains with all the changes we've been seeing is this -
Is Mondelez trying to make our DSD operation as efficient as possible or are they preparing for an exit from it? Big changes ARE happening, that's a fact.... so it can only be one of those 2 reasons.
My feeling is they will integrate CAO at all chains to have that in place, start shifting more infrastructure, reorganizing more warehouses and have everything basically set up - then they will drop the news. Could take a while longer yet, but who knows.
