FirstNet Jobs! leaving T

AT&T will pay ATN International's Commnet Wireless $167.5 milion to build and maintain AT&T's wireless network in the Southwestern US. AT&T will use the network for its own commercial mobile services and for its public-safety offerings through FirstNet.

So att isn’t in the actual telecommunication business any more. Looking more and more like the old att before SBC bought them and saved them from bankruptcy.

Senior sourcing managers in ATO could be impacted on maintenance and repair side.

No jobs leaving. AT&T just using Commnet to build out First Net in Commnet coverage areas. Commnet building out with AT&T equipment and providing backhaul.

We are an entertainment company now, not a network company!! Outsource, outsource, outsource. What’s wrong with not owning and not building your own network? That’s the new direction of the company. Just slap the att name on some c-appy service and charge a 25% markup and concentrate on marketing and billing and watch the $$ roll in. Do you really think those c-appy landline phones with the att name slapped on them sold at Wally World are made by att? Same business model.

Presume this is what 10t7aNyT is talking about: https://blog.executivebiz.com/2019/08/att-commnet-wireless-sign-1675m-network-construction-outsourcing-deal/

Jobs leaving T is vague though with only "The outsourcing deal ...".
