Specialists safe for now?

Thoughts? Info? Are they going to survive this purge or is the turtle man saving the biggest for last?

Plumbing specialists, tool and hardware specialists, decor specialists and the electrical/plumbing pros are going to get axed. Depot doesn't have electrical/plumbing pros or tool/hardware specialists, fashion plumbing and kitchens are merging to kitchen and bath, and flooring will be also responsible for decor. The hours will be used to bring in lower cost PT CSA positions which can obviously be flexed in hours to keep payroll down. Corp is not concerned about the quality of staffing(product knowledge) they are looking for short term stock gains(take the money and run), they don't plan on being around for the long term.

Believe me—there ARE appliance sales specialists making $25.00/hr. Trust me.... I know this for a FACT.

The store I USE to work seems to be canning everyone that was making a living wage (saying that loosely) I knew of one specialist that was making about 25 bucks an hour (he had to prove it for me to believe it) but he was canned a while back along with ASM"s in 2017, RTM clerks are safe I believe for a little while till Ellison and his hack team figure out who they can heap all the work load on. This is hard on local management teams, I was close with the SM and ASM's they can't be held responsible they were all shocked when they had to lay us off, QUE SARA SARA

As the transition continues over the next two years I would suspect that plumbing would loose all specialists. Flooring would be down to one or two depending on volume. Appliances would stay the same. Kitchen design down to 1. The nursery will go as soon as we go pay by scan. But I would almost bet rtm cleark will be next. Doubtful the would touch the sales floor until the end of the 3 year plan.

Specialists at $25/hr? That’s crazy no hourly person in our store makes over $20 that includes dept supervisors.

I feel bad for our plumbing and flooring specialist last few months those 2 departments have been ran by their specialist and to say it is only them in the departments they both are great workers do the paper work, tell managers what need ordering even ask the managers to give them a few part timers to help, but I have seen both those specialist being scolded for not turning in paper work, condition of the department and because they didn’t look at the schedule and tell them there would be no closer or opener certain days, it would s— if those guys left they are literally the only guys working/holding those departments together but you can tell they are exhausted, they come in on their days off to help, and I actually seen a manger call our flooring specialist on his day off to ask him how to do a order and he ended up selling the order over the phone in his day off.

We still have specialists making $25.00/hr, and they are basically order-takers, not true sales people. My guess is they will be next.
