Does anyone hear really think State Farm gives them anything? If you do, you're nuts!

Pension buyout would be nice, I’d take .60 cents on the dollar. Most are just hiding out right now waiting to collect. I’d take the buyout tomorrow and roll. It’s like we lost control of our business nothing wrong with change but when you lose all the experience especially in claims it’s like a runaway train.

You missed the boat on the buy outs. You had your chance.

PSL used to be up to six months. That was taken away and replaced with something called pto. You had to burn a continuious week of pto if you were sick and then, maybe, you'd be on short term disability. After very negative surveys state farm "gave" this "benefit" of 40 hours psl.

as one person noted your spouse is no longer covered under your medical when you retire....used to be though.

The previous poster is be very new to IT or is just flat out lying.

I expect nothing less from a shill, I suppose.

I've worked at companies throughout the Midwest and I can tell you firsthand that State Farm's benefits, both then and now, do not stack up.

When I left State Farm a year ago, I went someplace that pays me 25% more, pays all of my medical insurance premium for my entire family, and tacks an additional 20K onto my 401K every year.

State Farm's benefits are a joke. The only thing good about them was the pension, but when you can't count on working there long enough to make a career out of it (which is clearly now the case), now that's just a good way for the company to convince people to settle for less than competitive 401K matches.

For those naysayers regarding benefits you are entirely inaccurate. I wish you had worked at other organizations like many of us in the hubs. Very generous and competitive. Lots of whining on this site. You should try it out in the real world. Might cut into you leaving at 3 mow the lawn though.

The news gets sh– on because it’s disingenuous and posted to falsely color the image of the company. People don’t come here to have the conversation hijacked by shills

@10k29Che-efks probably correct but even when there is the slimmest of positive news, including the adoption/parental benefits and the 40 hours of PSL just announced the same people sh– all over it.

I assume people downvoted the posts because they paint a false narrative that the benefits situation at State Farm is competitive and some sort of bright spot or reason for employees to consider their situation at State Farm to be advantageous.

None of those things are true in reality.

What kind of douche nozzle downvotes a post that says higher salaries, higher 401k match, and no pension freeze is going to be announced? We can all agree things s— at the Farm right now but if they are going to give me something more or give me something back I plan on taking it and then putting my hand out for more. Many on this board are total asshats, both the shills and the whining b–ches.

The corporate PR machine on this site is hilarious. State farm has some of the least competitive benefits of any company I've ever worked for. The only way that's NOT true is if you work there for 30 years and collect on the pension, but the recent round of layoffs makes it clear that relying on the pension is a TERRIBLE life choice.

State Farm Benefits are simply not competitive.

More coming. Higher salary ranges announced later this year. Larger 401k match. Pension remains untouched. Good time to be an employee

If your a SF employee and your spouse has a child or you adopt. You are now eligible for 6 weeks maternity leave. If both spouses work at SF, they both get 6 weeks.
Adoption reimbursement also doubled to 10K.
In my 20 yrs at the farm, this are the first benefit improvements I have seen.

Anybody know when SFPP changes are coming ? We are hearing that a outside company taking over, I’m trying to get my game plan together and if the benefit changes are like everything else going on I’m anticipating significant reduction.

I dunno. Maybe because they are giving you back less than what you had prior to taking it away while providing “new” benefits that other companies have offered for years? PSL was k–led off because new hires couldn't find their way to work. That’s was due to a change in hiring practices that allowed anyone who could fog a mirror to get in the door. As far as the point system goes, you can rest assured that’s the byproduct of litigation not goodwill. Sure, they have every right to run the business as they see fit but employees have the right to call it what it is; typical BS. Same old song and dance. They’ve driven this thing into the ground and trinkets won’t address the underlying problems.

I'm not sure why this post is getting such hate. State Farm for sure has changed things for the worst in the last few years, taking away lots of benefits that I liked. But giving me a week of sick time, taking away the point system and reducing overtime have been great moves by the company. It seems the bitter people on here are all the same ones I have been carrying for years, working all my claims and then working their claims. People have taken advantage of State Farm for years, doing just the minimum while people like me are leaned on to take care of our customers.

So THIS is what trolls on this board were claiming would attract and retain talent? Good Lord, you trolls are even dumber than I had thought possible. This is typical disconnected Farm executives wetting themselves thinking this will move a needle. It won’t. Bringing these stale donuts doesn’t make it any less of a toxic workplace.

1 extra PT day is a personal celebration day which doesn’t count against the existing PTO bank. 40 hours of PSL which is also separate from PTO bank.

1zssx – a career will reward you in future. This throw the dog a bone approach will continue to demean the job as a non career job. This is another attempt at trying to sell a bicycle while painting it as a Ferrari. People who don't have children no benefit? Wow! It is so obvious what they are doing. They cut benefits to the bare minimum and they cut salaries. Bottom line — SF is no longer a stable career. Promises talked about but never kept. Keep punching that time clock.

@10k29Che-1zsx Paternal leave is changing. 6 weeks paid time off just like maternal leave. And while I would rather have my PSL and my spouses medical paid for I will not turn down more time or money anytime they want to give me some back.

They still have taken away from the benefits.

  1. Wife does not get medical when you retire.
  2. Your PSL time is still less than what it once was.
  3. You're gonna need every bit of that 401K match to retire plus some.
  4. Paternal leave is no change.

You really think they gave you something? Maybe more of the cult Kool aid! Instead of giving money to buy off judges and Super PACS, maybe they should invest more in their people.
