The specialists get a pass again while the true workers of the store suffer.

Lowe's New Operational Slogan
"Do it wrong for more". How much was the investment for setting up a pick up desk at all stores?

Sooo sad that this company is getting even worse. It's bad enough the higher the management is the less they know about how to run these stores effectively. People who know nothing but kiss tail get promoted and promoted and therefore now these are the people mostly in charge. Now we have Marvin who effectively k–led JCP in here doing the same mess at Lowes. He loads the stores with merchandise so the stock price is artificially raised. He has no idea how to improve a company, and the foolish higher ups are never gonna figure it out until it is too late. How many of you have stores that are overstocked with product now. I know our tool overstock is beyond ridiculous. That is not an accident. Now instead of paying a person to do jobs like they were they will pay someone who will pay someone to pay someone to do it. In case of FSA's that is now 2 fold, one set of companies for machines and one for maintenance. We get paid a lot less yet we can see that is definitely not smart. Start looking now so maybe you will get out before it is too late. I'm still wondering if it is true that Marvin may be a plant by Home Depot.

First off, my deepest sympathies for all my colleagues who lost their jobs today. I’ve been with Lowe’st for over 11 years and have gone through three senseless transitions. In the past year, I took advantage of their tuition reimbursement and added another college degree, and I’m hoping on moving out on my own terms in a few months before they do another cut (oh yes, guaranteed this is not the end of it).
Now, for those concerned about IP addresses, it’s impractical for Lowe’st to get your personal identifying info. They’d have to go through so many loops ( and your service provider won’t give out such information unless ordered by court). Freedom of expression is a right!

"Does everyone realize this site is sponsored by Lowe's, and all of us have IP addresses. When we logon to myloweslife the same IP address is tracked - when the two correlate then we are identified .. .. Food for thought! "

  • Thanks for your scare tactics.....Give me a break, you corporate plant.

It's nuts how this place continually plummets into hot garbage...Meanwhile the CEO gets his millions, bonuses, fancy cars and houses while people constantly lose their jobs with little or no notice. There isnt much left to pilfer, but I'm positive corporate will find more ways to decimate the company further.

Essentially eliminating all full timers, anyone that makes a livable wage, meanwhile collecting his millions for negatively affected families. This isnt a business move, it's pure greed, and all about the almighty dollar.

He is a joke, and will continue to to tell you "God bless" to your face, while he counts his money and eats steak and lobster and blames the employees for this company struggling.

How does the board allow him to continually destroy the company?

Marvin and company need to be fired.

Looks to me like the company is basically trying to do away with any Mon-Fri/ 8-5 positions, with the exception of essential personnel in receiving. FSA, assembly, HRM, and pricing coordinators at least here all had pet schedules.

Of it is true that they arent even letting FSA and Assemblers apply for other positions before being let go then this is just lowes being evil.

My old store had an fsa that was the hardest worker. Now he is going to be let go so Marv can save a few pennies with a 3rd party company? When will he learn? 3rd party companies hurt your brand and remove the ability to be flexible.

Also, taking away the internet fulfillment position they just created? Why? They just did this whole separation thing in order to remove internet pick up customers from the returns desk. Lowes just doesnt know what they want to do anymore.

My guess is the same sales threshold will apply for the “one task team” that applied to overnight crews.

i just received word that not all stores qualified to go to the one task team overnights. but eventually more and more stores will be doing it. stores not going to overnights will be doing their own version of it

taken from reddit just now: and i know the one task team they speak of was being tested in other markets....and they dont test without the sole goal to implement regardless of results!!

So as ASM Ops this affected my people the most so I got tipped this morning. Here's what's going on:

1)As others have have said, internet fulfillment is gone but no associates will be let go they'll just be transitioned to the service desk. For my store that's no big change as my full timer had an injury and could no longer lift so they became a full time cashier and the pt clerk is now a pt head cashier so the service desk has been fulfillment for months now.

2) A new team called the One Task Team is being formed and it will be over nights. Positions being merged into this new team include all members of unload/stocking team, load puller, and price coordinators. Again, at least for my location, not a huge change persay because our store went overnight with stocking three years ago, but I imagine my price coordinator might balk at doing over nights...but if they do they have until the end of September to find a new job.

3)FSA and assembly are going third party and all associates in these roles will be let go immediately. This one s—s. I mean, not that going third party is bad but because the folks in these roles aren't given the opportunity to be shifted to new roles with in the company like they did with the other two changes.

Its Weds am, and Im off tow ork for 6 am start. NOTHING is going to happen. My ASM and even SM are on vacation until 2nd week of Aug!
Our store is so understaffed, and CCIC's lso legion, if they cut any further they'll have to close the store.

I dont even care. For months now, associates all run, hide, and skate. A causal reaction to the terrible policies corporate is inflicting. They have made it impossible to service customers, so we dont even try any longer. Every customer that goes to a desk, is seeking help for a different desk! Flooring customers come all the way to Pro before finding a single associate. Customers needing refund help go to lumber!

All FT'ers are targeted. Ive sat in on conference calls and meetings. Ive hgeard the big shots all say "employees are the problem!". Employees are looked upon as an expense, not as a value. That is 100% the truth.

They will cut every position possible, and Lowe's doesnt give a single rats rse about customers, or its people. Thats 100% true too.

Either skate and collect a check, quit, or wait to be fired.

Good luck because they all coming and cannot be stopped.

Yea yea that’s it....let’s see how many payroll dollars we can divert from the stores to corporate so we can offer more yoga classes and pretty walking trails for our millennial IT and software folks that have never worked a day of their lives in our stores serving customers! Yayyy!!!!!

Honestly at this point, who cares? The best thing that could happen to any of us is to no longer be employed by Lowe’s. The company was once a decent place in retail to work but Marv and co took us on a fast track to the bottom. Get cut, enjoy your unemployment until you find something better (which these days isn’t tough considering how terrible Lowe’s has become). I long for the day when I no longer have to deal with whiny entitled baby boomers treating me as if I’m their personal servant and owe them my life in exchange for their 50$ purchase. Eat it Marv, Joe, Billy B, and whatever clown show group of corporate swill that you put on your weekly broadcast. The only cuts that should be made are in corporate!!!

Lowe's needs to look into who works and who doesn't.

At my store we have a great many department supervisors that spend a lot of time off the sales floor hiding out in offices. I thought they were supposed to be leading efforts to serve customers. We have associates covering 2, 3, and sometimes 4 departments but we don't see a management presence until they let us out the door at the end of the night.

Head cashiers are the same way. We could have 3 on duty and all are over at customer service talking to their friends. With one cashier on duty at the registers the head cashiers need to be proactive and not reactive.

The two girls that work at the pickup desk think their jobs are to stand there, pet dogs, pass out treats to these same dogs, coo over babies, and chat with there friends. This position is supposed to be self-sufficient. At my store the positions were given as consolation prizes to runner-up for the head cashier positions.

The basic problem at my store is too many chiefs not enough indians.

Let's see how long this remains up.

How much more can they cut? It honestly seems like they enjoy upsetting their employees. I am so glad to be gone from the company. I genuinely liked it while I was there, but looking back at the stuff they have done since I left it seems like the Lowes I knew is long gone.
