Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Tired of Lazy GMs

I am tired of seeing lazy GM’s that are always in their offices and playing on their phones while their SM’s have to work stressful hours and also are stressed out. At times I feel so sorry for my SM and he has to work bells all the time when his other SM calls out and also his GM is out it taking days off constantly. I have only been with the company for 3 years but I feel like things are like this in every store no matter where you are and no one brings it up to HR. I feel so sorry for my SM because Verizon is going to loose an amazing manger because Verizon is wearing him out. I wanted a career and to move up but I don’t want to move up to SM if this is how Verizon treats their employees. Is this how it is in all markets? I am in the East

My GM doesn’t show up for 2 days out of the week. She calls it her office days at home where she can get things done and the company is totally fine with it.

I have never understood how a Store GM with a "retail" background get jobs in Indirect, consulting, and say distribution and other corporate position without any experience or background. What do the put on their resumes? That they've done nothing for so many years, that they are experts in micromanaging, and how they harass employees to slam products..Also, they don't lead by example. My last GM never worked any closing shifts or a Sunday , in Retail .

Quit complaining. What it comes down to is people deep down don’t like dealing with the public. Facebook and email passwords... so on. Misery likes company and complaining about it doesn’t change the future. If you’re so unhappy, find something different. If the response or thought is “I can’t I go anywhere to make the same money?”, then use the tuition assistance and get a degree in something you want to do. This company is at will employment. You can go to other channels or use the resources to be where you want.

I can gurantee its some SM/GMwho hates his life, getting yelled at by his/her GM/Area Manager, which probably is hated by the majority of Reps at the store, S—s up to the Area Manager to prove their loyalty & giving non sense coachings to the reps when they can to prove their worth even though all they do is sit around, harass reps of why they didn’t do the damn Salesforce leads, why didn’t they present the flex quotes to show how the customer will pay more than they are but since it’s shown “digitally” to them, it’s gonna make them buy that product, checking emails (at least making it seem like it), but also having another job opening to apply to within the company. If you guys r that frustrated, there are other companies too, simple, but other companies might ask u to do something, so be vary of that. Just don’t try to take the originality of the true facts very well presented in this post. This company is going downhill & going to fail one day bcz of its own id–ts at the top. Tell me who doesn’t come to work ONLY “For Themselves” nowadays at work?So if you ain’t hitting ur numbers, we’re sorry. Bcz none of ur dumb coachings are gonna do anything, but invovle HR. Doesn’t someone here in this website know that hoe the post abt a manager being caught red handed asking a sales rep to do fraud? That post is not here no more & that tells us a lot. Now get back to bootlicking.

Such babies, my GM and DM works hard and do so every day. Its funny how everyone seems to worry about other people doing their jobs when they probably cant hit their own quota or sell worth a c-ap. If you dont like your job, quit. Guarantee you OP is someone who does nothing but complain about how high their quota is all while taking 15 smoke breaks and 18 bathroom breaks, and then asking to go home early after calling in sick 3 days so they can get quota relief. Do your dang job and go home and enjoy your family.

I love my GM and he's awesome but for real, GMs in this company don't do sh–, same with DMs and directors. Sweet salary life for doing nothing. I have no idea how the shareholders are so out of touch about where money is being spent.

Tack on retail District managers, and senior managers, and MPs in b2b and you will find all the excess that Verizon needs to chop in order to save on its operating costs.

Did someone say SMs work very hard? I hope that was a joke. I mean sitting around, checking emails all day (applying to dffrnt positions), coaching people for dumb stuff, trlling reps to slam accounts and going over that dashboard which doesn’t make sense, etc Isn’t it a lot of hard work? Wow!!
