Cisco has a letter of intent for the Lawrenceville campus. Final date is not release but suspect it has to do with working out final TSA with Synamedia. The SPVideo group that Cisco sold off. All Cisco does is buy and sale off company's. Oh they don't care about people just how much money they can put in their pockets.
hear that Adtran, Nokia or Huawei might buy the HFC Lawrenceville group. Any thoughts......
I have no information one way or the other, but logically, many expected GE to reorganize things once she got a year under her belt as sales leader. I would think any cuts would be broadly impacting as they change things around to her preferences. Good luck to all and any impacted!
I visited Lawrenceville a year ago. Their cafeteria food was exquisite and their service was second to none. I hope they remain open after the Lawrenceville team gets decimated.
all of Lawrenceville software will be eliminated. The rest of the group will be surprised.
"Will Lawrenceville be impacted?"
All remaining 14 Lawrenceville employees will be laid off.
The cafeteria employees will continue serving lunch, however.
@10gO1ZS5-2eij: I got laid-off at Cisco about 2 years ago (was immediately rehired by another BU) and my boss at the time (nice guy) was so nervous telling me I was being let go that I felt compelled to let him know it was fine and not to worry. I did not say that I was ready to go, my old BU was a circus act. So fast forward, I expect to get LR'ed again tomorrow (7/31, and I already have the 1:1 with my boss scheduled). Of course, I am more than ready to go this time, same as last time. We'll see how my boss handles it LOL. F— this sh–, I'm out.
If my manager was in "training" this AM, he was learning to say bye to us in 15 mins?
Will Lawrenceville be impacted?
Notification training is the updated 15-min Good-Bye in a Box. Please do not go 16-min, they may not be prepared for that.
What is notification training?
I’d be very happy to just get an email notification. No need for a manager meeting. There’s nothing to talk about once the decision has been made.
How do you know?
Many managers are remote to their employees, so would not be usual to do via WebEx. If you see a 15-min emergency meeting with your Manager appear on your calendar, might start backing up photos and cleaning your desk.
@10gO1ZS5-2nut Not always face to face meetings. I was LR'ed phone in 2016. Manager set up 1:1 phone calls for entire group 2 days before layoff (including those not being LR'ed). Manager was not notified who was being LR'ed until night before phone calls. We were all in different geographies so I don't hold it against manager for doing it by phone.
Some are getting LRed Tuesday. The bloodshed has already started. Some managers have already started feeding on the leftovers.
It always starts in US, the rest comes later dependent on legislation. I imagine UK will be asking for consultation team volunteers in next week or so...
Is this for US only, or EMEAR and APAC are going to be hit too?
Webletters pushed to managers, notification training completed. No salary cuts, nothing in directory, but Wednesday things done by time the beat starts.
Webletters pushed.
Pay cuts now reflected in Employee Services page.
New orgs and reporting structures now updated in directory.
Layoffs occur in a face-to-face meeting. You'll receive a 1:1 invitation the night before.
How do Cisco managers lay people off? Face to face meeting? Webex? Email?
If you have affected employees, the Web Letters were just pushed.
10% will be shown the door.
we should start a thread on how many of these layoff claims come up wrong
5500?
We don’t pay our cleaning lady with money. T minus 1 day and counting ........
Nostradamus! How's it going?
So...how much are you guys paying your cleaning lady and guys for these insider tips? Mine should be making SO MUCH more money..
The beat was rescheduled to be post market hours for a reason.
If calling it fake news makes you fell better, go
for it. Maybe you only believe it if Trump tweets it. ...... Delta is increasing the number of flights to Bangalore
There are big cuts coming. Soon. If you’re that unaware of it, perhaps you’re a part of it.
I know that there was intense "review" of staff in my business unit. No layoffs that I know of yet. But the "review" sounded like a way to put a layoff list together. Waiting to what happen the next several days.
I have not heard of any layoffs next Wednesday. Sounds like fake news.
This is fake news. I'm a 3rd year director and have no knowledge of layoffs this year.
"I will be LR'ed on Wednesday. The cleaning guy saw my name on the list maintained by HR"
It's not the official list unless it's written in blood.
@10gO1ZS5-kzr Impacting TSA's and CSE's as well?
@10gO1ZS5-kzr what are the major SE changes?
Good luck guys for employees will be impacted, hopefully you will get better luck in new company.
Maybe some of the remote locations will wave the white flag?
