Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Hours of operation?

This is an honest question, so please no snarky comments! We all know that hours are being cut down to bare-bones nothing. At our store, hours are tight, but serious hours cuts haven’t happened yet. However big hours cuts are coming within a month or so, for our store. Anyway, with all these crazy hours cuts, why is corporate still hellbent on FS hours of 8-10? (or 7-12 for extended hours stores) Give me a good reason why we couldn’t do 9am-9pm company-wide 7 days a week? Corporate would save ALOT on payroll, since that’s all they seem to care about anyway, that is constant cutting of payroll. Pharmacy closes early 7 days a week because of payroll, (corporate feels pharmacists make too much money, so they close early to save payroll) so why can’t FS do the same, if payroll is that much of an issue?

Although, I did hear a rumor on this site, of FS going to RX hours in 2020, is that true?

CVS expects a pharmacist to come in early and / or stay late beyond Rx hours to work, though they will never admit it. They keep the FS open longer so pharmacist are able to work extra.

Cut hours lose business , lose business cut more hours Until your store is a ghost town . People will then invest in your company just ask Rite Aid how that works , one of the best operated in the USA now almost gone

in Ala we took drastic cuts , if under 20k fs - total fs hours are 90-130
20-30k no kidding open times two
Minus 10-20 – which is 150 - 172 average - 40 plus stores close at 6 on Saturday , 0f 159 stores there is only 13 that have more than 200 hours fs, no joke 2000 scripts a week only gets pharmacist and 1 tech , store manager is expected to help Rx when or if there is a second person for front. 2400-2600 scripts get you overlap tech for 4 hours a day .

Forgive me, but anyone who works for free, especially for this company is crazy! Cvs doesn’t care about us to begin with, so working for free is just feeding the troll.

CVS can't afford to have a pharmacist in the building for an extra hour. Store managers work for tons of hours for free, so why not stay open?

Corporate doesn’t care about the front store anymore, so why we stay open till 10 is beyond me. I get the idea that the FS is what got us here, but again corporate doesn’t care about that anymore, it’s all about the pharmacy now. And yet they get to close early...

The sales lost would be devastating not to mention competition would gain. Some stores make sense but others would be wrong! Wall Street investors are waiting for CVS to generate decent positive FS comps. The company stocks is half of what is was a couple years ago. Leadership MUST generate foot traffic and create Value to drive Customer Counts and sales. CVS Retail is still a huge part of the company. Sometimes leadership forgets what got them there.
