Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Repost

I saw a post a month ago and said na, not true. But let me tell you it is.
CVS is targeting well paid store managers and pharmacist. Ive seen it first hand. They are using Lp which they have always done - to find even the slightest policy violation to axe . Ive seen it 3 times over last 60 days.

Not right. That shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Sounds to me like that DL of yours needs to be fired also for allowing this to go on. It sure seems like your SM is getting special treatment from the DL.

Well, I hate to say this, but I hope this one is true. My SM has it on the schedule that he works 45+ hours a week, but in reality he clocks in at about 20-25 hours a week, and has been doing so for about seven years. Everyone knows what he does, including SM's from other stores in the district, but no one ever says anything. We wouldn't care so much if he actually worked when he is at the store, but all he does is sit in the office all day. There are two Shift Supervisors who have to do everything, while our SM has NEVER had to close or even work an evening shift in all the years that I have been there, (nor do a planogram, BOH, QuickPicks, etc.) Waltzes in at 8 AM, leaves for lunch at 11-ish, back by 2-ish, and then leaves for the day at 3:30. I have dropped hints when our DL comes to visit, but she has made it clear that she doesn't care. So frustrating.

Welcome to cvs! Where we fire people for using common sense! And that is exactly why corporate frowns upon free thinking. It makes them look bad, and in this case, exposes the companies shoddy inventory processes. Heaven forbid you actually save the company some money. Corporate would rather you have 6 totes of overstock laundry detergent rather than cutting back to the proper amount, simply because you used your head. At cvs no common sense is allowed!

Falsifying inventory? Try more like correcting inventory, so that the store only orders what it needs, and not a ton of excess. And yet we fire people for using common sense. Because apparently if corporate says you need 50 bottles of Tide, then you NEED 50 bottles of Tide, even if your store sells only 25 a week. Idiocy... When is CVS corporate gonna have some sense knocked into them?

So a manager was fired because a shift supervisor used common sense and saved both corporate and the store time and money? That shift used good business sense. Thank him, don’t fire the SM.

Saw manager fired for having knowledge that a shift supervisor changed the Boh of Tide to prevent system ordering more that the store did not need . Lp identified it as falsifying inventory.

Wait, are you saying God fired them? Seems unlikely.

I second the OP on his observations. It’s true that corporate is indeed looking to fire people. I know of 2 individuals fired for violating company policy. I can’t say any details, except to say both the SM and the DL had no knowledge of the firings, it came straight from above.

You mean how stores are being forced to charge employees insurance for Flu shots that they arent giving? Keep applying pressure cvs to the stores for care-pass and Flu shots see how good that turns out.
