Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Pro week? How is everyone doing thus far?

So its Pro Event week. How are other stores doing after 2 full days?
We havent gotten any credit cards or opened any new accounts and foot traffic is abysmal.

Its been a a slow Sept start which is not normal. Fall and cooler temps have always meant an uptick in foot traffic, especially contractors this time of year but not in 2019!

We are so short-staffed that most of us in pro havent even been there anyway.

I dotn see how Marv and racist Joe plan on taking away contractor business from Home Depot like this. I asked one couple who flips houses why they havent opened a Pro Account w/ us, and her reply was, "because.... Lowes is for the home owner, and HD for the contractor! We have always had a HD Pro account for business stuff."

We dont even offer a mere 10% off when opening a new account because Marv needs more money in his own pockets to inflate his ego and pay for his buddies, and useless corp positions and elaborate tech centers.

Whats even worse is, all Lowes cares about is the QUANTITY of accounts opened. If I open 5, all approved with 20k credit lines, and another guy opens 10 that all get failed, he is congratulated up and down and I am chastised for "not doing as good." So the last few inexperienced clowns they hired simply make up people and enter accounts knowing it will be rejected or open ones for friends, family, etc - the entire system is a sham, and corp is too dumb to even know these glitches, or fallacies in the process.

Its really is bad. A chit show of disgrace. I cant even honestly, with any integrity at all, tell good people to open an account because I KNOW the poor service, lies, and BS they will receive. Deliveries never go, even when pulled and staged a week in advance!
The employees have no experience, and just tell every customer to order online. They have no construction background, and cant build a deck or even know what a ledger board is,.

If corp is trolling these forums, it IS, that bad!

Its all gonna get a lot worse.

in our district as of midday friday, we had 4 new cc apps for the week, and were TIED with 1st place.
we have 60 mill store in our district and they didnt have a single app!!!!

looks like marvs pro-push is a complete failure!!! down nation wide, and utterly abysmal

I remember when the AMEX cards came out and the RSD in California demanded we get apps - or else!!! My fellow Specialist and myself would offer discounts to people who didn’t give a c-ap about their credit and have them fill out AMEX, LAR, LBC, and then LAR Escrow, all would count as separate applications and we were praised for leading the region in apps. Even the DM told other stores to follow suite. Whole thing is a scam and still is.

we too are being threatened with termination. too bad most dont know that its ILLEGAL for lowes to force you to open a cc account.

if you are asking customers, you are doing your job. and we all are!

and "fraudulent accounts?" - we had pro specialists making an account for HIMSELF, in his own name, his mom, brothers, friends, and everyone he could and he was applauded!!! and not one of em ever used the card or bought a thing . the man quit a mere month later.. lmao

the threat of job loss seems to be coming right from the top. not until marv sunk his teeth in lowes did store management start acting like this. nothing but a trickle down effect where SM is being threatened in the same way by his DM...so on down the line it goes.

problem is you arent just threatening "job loss"....youre threatening a lose of a home do to late mortgage payments, a reduction in food in the house of that family that could include children etc. etc.

its one thing to discipline the worker who simply doesnt work hard or doesnt try or screws up way too much.....but to threaten job loss on those who work hard, bring value etc. is an act of war againsts ones very existence in my book. why not just say it the way we mean it....dont give us what we want and we will make sure your child goes hungry tonight. then maybe we can get past these "motivational" tactics and realize they have no place in a CIVILIZED society.

As a Pro specialist we were told if we didn't get x amount of pro apps we would be written up. We all try and feel like sometimes we just get threatened more than helped. Our Store manager basically uses the threat of job loss as a motivator.

We do push the program and ask but we can't force people to sign up.

Don’t you need a social security number to open an account? On the other hand our lumber cashier was fired for opening fraudulent accounts.
