I heard a rumor from a vender that they are offering long term associates severance packages. Anyone else?

I am in a GWP store and DMs who had their positions eliminated were offered severance.
To ezey's comment about 20 year + associates getting severance, where did that happen, our store has at least 25 associates with 20+ years no one has been offered squat! I've been at Hellmart for 29 years and some have over 30 years.
Not true earlier, on salaried only getting severance. All long term employees 20+ years ALSO get a severance, 1 week per year worked. Option to reapply to some other position also.
Pretty obvious way to get rid of higher paid and older folks, but it's Walmart.
OMG if you are going to repeat it ...get it right. Severance is if you did not remain in an eliminated position. What is wrong with you people. You know you were offered jobs you just did not want to give up your time off or cherry schedules or office spots. Get over yourself.
Personnel and Training Coordinate both were offered a severance package when their jobs were eliminated. Personnel lady took the severance and the tc went to OGP. Severance was 1 weeks pay for each year of employment. Policy states that a severance could be offered when the job is eliminated and no comparable position is available. Whether one is offered remains to be seen.
I doubt it unless you're salaried.
Walmart will do a n y t h i n g they can to screw people out of that.
BELIEVE IT.
lol severance that's well i don't have the words. flimsey write ups leading to firing is how they are playing this game
They only offer severance if your position is eliminated. To both hourly and salary. It is a policy you can search.
Wish I could put this on a tape loop never needing repeat posting:
ONLY SALARIED MANAGERS WILL GET SEVERANCE PACKAGES.
Btw: As I recall, most of those vendors were either mentally r—ded or professional sh!t stirrers. Don't believe them if they say spring comes in April.
Even if they do it won’t be that much, I wouldn’t worry about it.
