Having a person arrested for fraud in store is by direction of company only. In many cities and states Verizon prevents us from doing this. Once you get involved in getting a fraudster arrested you are subject to being in a police report and ending up with a date to appear in court. Verizon foots the bill for that and you miss time at work. It also is not a safe move for store workers to get involved in circumstances where only trained security professionals should handle those situations. The other poster has it 100% correct. Each store should have a trained security professional on duty at all times.
To the person complaining about fraud in their store. I’ve had multiple people arrested in my store for stolen IDs and bogus accounts. Don’t complain about it and do nothing when they’re in your store, call your PD and tell them. We just buy time till the cops show up and it’s pure viewing pleasure after that.
Always scams..VZ and leadership know....KZ and a couple of his DM henchmen had their managers use add a line and prepay in unprofitable and inappropriate ways to gain gross adds...oh he is a president now...
Small potatoes compared to the millions and millions lost from phony business accounts and credit mules. Verizon has rarely indicted anyone over the last several years that has been a non employee. Why? What is Verizon’s protocol if someone comes in using a fake ID / stolen identity ? Other then denying the app and marking it for fraud we just walk these scammers. We need to start having these folks arrested at the store. Customers come in daily disputing accounts they never opened and it wastes a lot of their time and ours. Verizon has virtually nothing in place to stop stolen identity or even a way to bust these shop lifter con artists in the act. We are a billion dollar company and should have a security/ investigator for each store if not the district.
People need to pay their bills lol
