Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

More layoffs?

Can we expect more layoffs now? I figure older, long-time employees are going to e targeted more intensively as they would want to increase the number of part timers, contactors and generally a whole new army of cheaper workers.

It’s already started at my store. The only people that they hire or promote are the young do nothing, know nothing kids or former Home Depot employees. We have older, knowledgeable associates being “managed” (using the term very loosely) by people young enough to be their children or grandchildren in some cases. They have no work ethic preferring to stand around and talk or hit on each other. It’s ridiculous the amount of freight that sits on the floor for days until the “parents” put it away.

We have a whole generation of employees that have been marginalized by the new Lowe’s. When they are gone, they’re gone. They can’t be replaced with a kid with a SMART phone. Anyone can google an answer, it takes someone with intelligence to determine if it is the right solution.
