I could definitely see it happening. A lot of the specialists are some of the highest wage people in the stores. Many make more than $15.00/hr. I ASSURE you that they are at the very least being heavily looked at and scrutinized. Why pay a guy $15.00/hr to sell a refrigerator when a part-timer making $11.00/hr can do the same thing? Customers get their product knowledge and Consumer Reports/ratings online now before they ever walk in the store. They won’t say it, but the company really wants order -takers, not professional sales people, to engage with customers in the stores now.
Maybe stupid Joe's comment may have delayed this move, but they absolutely want specialists gone!
I heard the exact same thing in region 21!! There will only be a select few in store like 4 to 5... will definitely have to re interview and those left are history! No chance to re apply and no severance!
From Lowe’s Workforce Management 100 percent false!
I think this person is trying to spread fear this is a false rumor

Now I have to say something . As an LNS I ran 4 Lowe’s Nurseries to profit. Fired in August with nothing on my record. Creepy guys from corporate did the interview and decided I was out. My store didn’t even know. Yes, vendors called me offering me a job. I have decades of experience. Why was I fired? Because I bought an ac unit at cost by Managers approval. Why is he not fired ?

Would anyone be surprised? Working at Lowe’s is liking walking on a frozen lake and the ice is cracking underneath you. Sooner or later most of us are going to go under.
is there any truth to this
Our Pro Sales department just added a 4th Specialist...
Heard a rumour on only at Lowe's FlakebooK. May have been a chewing out meeting for specialists at a particular store, supposidly. But everytime I heard a rumour at Lowe's it alway's came, true sooner or later.
I was warned a week ago by a store manager who I worked with before, he is in tight with the district manager. All specialists are going to have to re-interview for the job as half of the specialist positions are being eliminated mid-september. This week if you are a specialist expect to be called in for an interview with your ASM and store manager. I was told those not chosen to keep the specialist position will be given the option to take another available open position in the store(at a lower pay rate of course) such as cashier or CSA.
