Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

What They Are Missing

When you continue to take away positions for employees to work towards what is left? Before you'd start out as maybe an hourly or full-timer, work up to department manager, then from there maybe OPs or ASM, and so on. You're going to run stores with a bunch of part timers and maybe one full time manager, with nothing for these people to work up to? Higher up positions are constantly disappearing. There's nothing to work towards. Who would stick around for that???

We have a C vol at 375. Don’t want to hear you don’t have enough. That’s still a lot for that store. Certainly not minimum. Or hey, below the minimum of 400!

My A+ volume store just got it hours cut to 1200. Cannot run a big store on this.

Although I think your wrong with some of this post you are also true. The hierarchy in most stores that are not A volume stores is:
Sales associate
Dept Supervisor FT
Operations Supervisor FT (Which I’m told is a lateral move if you are already a Dept Sup)

And then if possible be transferred to a Large store to be an ASM- if possible!

SM

You are right. Most stores don’t have lead positions unless it’s a B Vol.

But the store is NOT ran off of part timers.
