Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

September layoffs

Heard from a reliable source that HR has been holding hush hush planning meetings to gear up and prepare for mass layoffs in September and into the 4th quarter. I asked who would be affected and was told every PSL, every location

For whoever claims to not be management and these comments are "bs." No, sir. Every comment I have read has validity. The shop foreman sits with his feet kicked back in a chair, claiming hours he doesn't work, and taking home more per year than the head of maintenance. I have personally heard the conversation between the two of them. It's a sad day when the shop foreman is "bragging" about how much he pays for his wife's new car payment, all the while employees are being laid off and are hurting to provide for their families. There are unused parts sitting around the shop that have been paid in full and get dumped into the metal bin. We don't have money problems. We have management problems. If I could go more into detail and not be targeted on the next round, I would. HR take heed.... Your shop foreman is a MAJOR problem. His attitude towards employees undermines everything Halliburton "claims" to be. His work ethic is non-existent. But his a$$ kissing and paychecks are excellent. Your maintenance management team is skilled at covering up. Break up the little buddy system we have going on up there, demote our foreman, and watch things fall back together.

Heard with hour cuts they might possibly stock the restrooms with 2-ply

Any additional layoff information? I am more concerned with the uncertainty that comes with these times in Big Red. Ive seen people work hard and keep their head down, and they get a folder alongside the "golfing buddy". The level these things happen is beyond the local social hierarchy, so any new information is appreciated.

For all of the people that feel they can hind behind an anonymous post and not be recognized, you are sadly mistaken. I am not a lead or foreman but the points you are making have no truth or reality behind them. Stop this c-ap!!! No one wants to continue to hear your lies and BS.

What little morale this shop had was just decimated by upper management. Good thing they are salary and are not affected by the hourly cut at all. Looking forward to see if the foremans hours will be cut....i doubt it. They do work so very hard.

A nice audit from an outside source I.e Houston might start the draining of the swamp. The days of the good ol’ boys is over. It’s always fun being caught in the crossfire.

Well well, maintenance in El Reno was cut to 40 hours a week.....big surprise there. I bet the foreman and the leads, the select few anyway, will still get there 70 and 80+ hour work weeks though.

I don’t understand why they don’t just get rid of the whole shop. Third party does the majority of the work anyway.

A lot of cancer underlines such issues. Employees who seek entitlement without earning it, management who cannot discipline, therefore they cannot give that power to their “leads”. Big brother can trump any situation , because we have become a society who cannot function without Human Resource. You add the buddy buddy system to this, and as a whole , it’s what us Americans have evolved to.

El Reno has been top heavy since 2014, nothing has or will change...ever. You don’t see sharks eating each other. We have a management issue plain and simple. The funny thing is we had these issues in Ft. Smith, Searcy, and Alvarado, and wouldn’t you know it, we kept the key players to play the same games here. We had mass lay off’s industry wide in 2015, and 2016 and due to greed and mis management we are going through it again. Makes you wonder why anyone would work here?

I saw no actual names! So “Master Blaster” is charging more than he works. And “Auntie Entity” is letting it happen.

You think I don't know the law? Huh? Wasn't it me who wrote it? And I say this man has broken the law. Right or wrong, we had a deal. And the law says, "Bust a deal and face the Wheel!"

How do you think we feel here in the pump shop. Frac got a raise a while back. They told the pump shop that we were part of maintenance, so we didn't get the raise. Then maintenance got a raise. They then told us we were part of frac so we didn't get the raise again. Now were supposedly maintenance again and having to teach them how to pack pumps. I don't even know who I am anymore.

Remember when we didn’t get that 15% raise in maintenance? So to make up for it, the lollipop guild said we didn’t have to shave to bring up morale. Then recently, we had to start shaving again. What ever happened to that 15% raise that we didn’t get? Why do I keep seeing wireline with full beards? Things are cray cray.

They were removed because they mentioned names. Rumor has it multiple ethics violations have been reported. Doubt anything will happen due to upper management always hiding the skeletons. Apparently the new boss cares more about laying down frac crews and laying off technicians than actually fixing the core problem, management.

What's the point reporting it to El Reno HR? Nothing will happen. On top of that it is the Leads and Foreman submitting false time with maintenance supervisors approving it. What's the point, seriously?
