Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Working here is incredibly difficult now.

I used to have a pretty decent experience working here, I did a lot of work but I was treated well. I've survived all the layoffs so far, everyone I knew is gone. I'm trying to do like 11 peoples jobs now, I haven't been able to take a day off in like a year. No pay increase either, I thought I'd have a future here. Its sad. The clients hired most of my colleagues, at this point I wish they would lay me off cause it would be a better outcome.

Why can't you ask your "friends" for client contacts that you can approach. Be cheeky! Say you are looking for the possible opportunity to work for them. After all, your friends on the inside then become your sponsors and have access to the management of similar jobs and client job boards.

A client is far more likely to take on someone they know or whom their employee recommends, than take a chance on a stranger, as recruitment is expensive, so the client will want to mimise their risk.

Actually it has gotten real easy. Accept that your job is temporary. Accept that success in neither expected or encouraged. Work your resume, job search or marketable skills. If you are not motivated to do any of that, do nothing. No matter what you do, you will not get a raise or promotion and will inevitably be laid off.

I hate all you people saying "push for my redundancy" , You all have it made with redundancy pay outs . We in US get only MAX of 9 weeks after In think 10 years service. If it's that bad then quit already and shut up!

I take as many vacation days that my manager approves and so far she has never said NO. I work less and less hours each year as I am taking my raise in off hours and if the company doesn't like it they can RIFF me. So far they haven't, but I don't really care anymore if they do. I saved over 1 years salary in funds and have been maxing out my 401K each year.

Yeah, I feel you. But why would you do the job of 11 people now??? Don't do it! You are actually just justifying managements WFRing people because people like you will fill in for them. There is zero incentive to do the work of others or for that matter working anywhere close to 40 hours a week. If you do great work-you will not get a raise or a bonus and may be WFRed. If you do c-appy work-you will not get a raise or a bonus and may be WFRed.

Stop it now and do your 1 role only, take your holiday that you're entitled you - don't do any more than this as it is not worth risking your health, relationships, e.g., partner, children, etc for any company regardless whether it is Apple, IBM or this company.

I doubt they pay you 11 salsries. Ehy in earth should you tgen work your a*s off for the benefit of the company?
Doing so much work elsewhere would surely be much more beneficial for you?
Don't let them exploit you any longer (because that's what they are doing). If the manager cannot fix this leave.
I left over a year ago and never regretted it for a second. I came to the layoff to check the watecooler after seeing thst terrible stock price drop. Good luck!

Doing 11 people's jobs (or gamely attempting to) and not being able to take a day's leave in a year is unacceptable.

It's time to push back. You should be doing YOUR job only and you need to take some leave. Doing other people's jobs is not your remit. Ultimately this is a management problem. Speak with your manager and explain that whilst you are prepared to work hard at your own job, you cannot also do others.

DXC management has created this problem and they should be the ones to resolve it.

Good luck.

I think many of us are in this boat. I too am getting to the end of the road. Am looking at my finances and if all is well going to push for my redundancy. They either give it me or I go long term sick.
