How many would leave the company if they gave you an offer of a SIPP payout of a year to 15 months pay??

6 months NO. One year I would think about. 90 weeks YES.
I’d leave for 6 months severance. This death by a thousand cuts is terrible.
There will be no more extra incentives to entice people to leave. If anything, watch the move to stop further funding management pension plans like Verizon did over 10 years ago. No one is going to pay you extra, be really nice, etc so you will leave....sorry but this is how it works now.
Just waiting...
"They can afford to be kind and off 3 to 5 year by out"
File under: Things that will never, ever, happen. Ever.
as a lineman im out i see no future here!
I am non bargained and I don't know what SIPP is, but most non bargained for I know that have been here 20+ years like me would jump at a year's severance (currently caps at 6 months). They don't want to make an offer like Verizon's last year though. Their tactic is to make you miserable until you quit, and then you get zip, zero, nada.
Cwa does not seem to be concerned about the members retirement or Sipp payments. What are we paying them for?
Never gonna happen. They will just lay you off and give you that 6 months pay.
That is less then termination pay. This company makes billions in tax cuts and this new midwest contract if voted in will give at&t over 2 million more. They can afford to be kind and off 3 to 5 year by out.
Company is obligated by contract to offer sipp prior or at a surplus declaration. They don’t do it out of the kindness. Also I’ve seen a few times over the years they offered an enhanced sipp which was basically twice the amount. Around $64k.
I’d be out so quickly.
2020 do a buyout 1/2 our yard would leave this Cesspool
I heard they were going to sweeten the sipp pot and try to get out of the PMR business.
@1juh...supplemental income protection plan...
Basically a little extra $ to get you on out the door. I believe the payout is based on years of service. The company will often times offer sipp before a surplus declaration to make thinning the heard easier and will use it after a surplus declaration to help save a spot for folks who can't leave yet
That would require a "NO" on the tentative contract vote. "Fists Up" send 'em back to the negotiating table!!
yes - absolutely would,
What Does SIPP stand for? And what is it? My group is all M1-M2 so probably doesn’t apply. Just curious what it is.
I would be out of there so fast, it would make your head spin!
🖖 count me in. Two years shy of retirement/pension.....I’d take it and coast my way to the promised land. Wait....they call it Medicare, right?
Count me in, screw this place
Wouldn’t think twice
I'd leave in a heartbeat......
I have 19y7m and I’d take it to end the madness and regain some since of normalcy again
Never going to happen.....Why would the company do that when they are trying to pay down debt and can just outsource and surplus with minimal $$$ payout,,,.
Nope, they won’t get rid of me that easily.
I would be the first in line. Our SIPP payout has been $32,000 for as long as I remember. After taxes it’s a pittance. Time for an increase in. (Bargained)
What Does SIPP stand for? And what is it?
Don’t get my hopes up.
I don't know what SIPP is exactly, but I volunteered for the six months severance pay &18 months short of MR75. Three years later, no regrets, never looked back YAY!
(non-bargained)
I’m outta here!!
Would leave that day
