Happy to be working

To be honest, there's very little to be thankful for this year. I'd rather spend at least a part of the day doing something productive than have to deal with the entire extended family the whole freaking day when I am already in a bad mood to begin... — read more

I work at SYW at HE which no longer exists

I was lucky to ‘survive’ the recent layoffs. But the entire SYW team at HE got let go. There must have been 300 of us but no more. There are a handful of us now to keep the lights on. It’s clear SYW is dead, so much for the endless platitudes SYW... — read more

Don't walk out, just work your hours.

Don't leave before you have another job lined up and don't give management a chance to fire you for cause. People on this board are haters, and many rightly so, but leave or quit of your own decision and not out of emotion or what other people are... — read more

Do they still have new employees in HE

One thing I remember from my days in Hoffman, with wave after wave of layoffs, you would always see someone parading new employees through the atrium, showing them where everything was located. There could be a massive layoff, and the next day you... — read more

Sears is not the only one struggling this holiday season

To tell you the truth a month ago I thought that the holiday season can save Sears, at least in some form, but from this perspective, I look at it as just more life support for a patient that can't be revived. In any case, the holiday season is going... — read more
