Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Were you recognized, the last time you went the extra mile, at work here at State Farm?

How do you feel about it?

State Farm will never reward. Claims/operation people are referred to as: kids, minions, and claim scum.....AND WE ARE TREATED AS SUCH.

Can't tell you how many times me and my team mates have gone the extra mile only to be called out because we were not within our metrics for the day. Also can't tell you how many times we didn't go the extra mile because we are afraid of not being in the green. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't....when you work in claims.

SF does not care if you go the extra mile, they don't care how many mistakes you catch and fix when you work a claim, they DO NOT CARE, but forget to check involved in loss when you do a QFC then all Hell breaks lose...

SF can't figure out why people are still leaving in droves...forgetting to check involved in loss is not why people are leaving SF. It's the stupid mistakes that claim handlers are continually making, either because they don't care, they are poorly trained or they are so worried about metrics they are cutting corners to make their metrics.

SF is still focused on the wrong things..and being rewarded for going the extra mile, that's not even on their radar.....just look at what didn't happen for Founders Day..

The last time I went the extra mile at State Farm involved me driving down the road a few extra miles and accepting a better job with a more stable company, doing more satisfying work and making more money.

And yes, I felt quite rewarded.

Unless you've been at the Farm more than 25 years and have serious time tied up in the pension, I can't imagine why you would stay there.

I 2nd the motion, the people who do a lot of nothing but come up w/ an half-assed, half-thought out idea, that usually doesn't work in the long run, after we struggle making it work, are praised for their new ideas to make things better. Yet, they are never ever better.

Got some kudos in a huddle. Whatever happened to On The Spot awards? The program isn't gone, yet. Show me the $$$!

Poor widdle snowflake doesn’t feel “recognized”. For us baby boomers, our participation award has always been direct deposited in our accounts every couple of weeks.

Only those that do nothing...get recognized. In ET, having outstanding technical skills will get you no where. Showing up on time and working a full day will get you nothing.

Call in sick all the time. Always late....go to only meetings. Basically no real contributions that help us catch up to the technical power of geico or progressive. That's what will get you 3/3 rating
