I don't know what you're talking about, but JA certainly wasn't disposed, I saw him the other day, he was down in the cage digging around for something. I asked him if I could run some new ideas I had for a new line of outdoor sports line and he stopped what he was doing and we had a super productive impromptu brainstorm right there in the basememt, he totally took my idea and flipped it but in a super cool and innovative way and now after taking some of his insights and tweaking the concepts marketings pitching it to Target as an early avail exclusive for their bulk isle next summer.

I am always amazed when I hear that these bungling fools who were disposed from FP (whether layoff or convenient "retirement" since MZ is still working) are still working in the toy industry.

After the rock n play was recalled and discontinued, it will be at least 1 year before FP has a chance to post a positive sales number. That brand is dying a slow death.

ES is not releasing the money for renovation due to FP's financial performance. You wouldn't remodel your house if you didn't have any cash in the bank. Why would a corporation be any different?

"@ZRfeqau-5acl My understanding is that it had nothing to do with money and was left this way intentionally because MZ felt it would serve as a poignant allegory reflecting on the omnipresent dichotomy present in the FP brand; a struggle between it's celebrated heritage and it's challenge to maintain it's relevance as it hurls headlong into an ever changing future state. That push and pull, that internal polarity, a constant reminder laid bare for all those who toil in the walls of the Team Center, a contrast as real as that of the stark white and grey of the second floor and the musty beige fabric cubical walls on the first."

I just about peed myself reading this because I can see this pretentious drivel coming out of his mouth. The irony is that with the exception of furniture that is absolutely uncomfortable, he always had his minions do the design work. The guy hadn't done more than a useless scribble on a note pad in meetings to keep himself from falling asleep for the last 10 years at mattel/FP.

Yeah great some remodel projects go unfinished. In this case you have a 2nd floor remodeled with a 2014 office style and on the 1st floor it looks like the 1970s. It's a complete embarrassment. Anytime someone visits you would have to apologize to them when you brought them to through the 1st floor.

Alots of remodel projects go unfinished when a new leaders appointed part way through a project. Every leader wants to say they started and finished the project. No sloppy seconds. And no better way to waste money.

Ynon should sell the whole Company

They never finished the team center or playlab. They ran out of money after the doing the second floor. This new project is intended to finish off the job assuming Ynon approves. FP brand is a sinking ship though so he'll probably punt until they start turning sales around.

Did they ever get around to finishing the Team Center remodel that they started back in 2014? The one where they redid the 2nd floor and then for some reason (cost?) cancelled the project half way through, leaving the 1st floor trapped in 1997? Or how about the Playlab remodel, did that ever happen? Lot of stuff going on at FP.

Didn't Thomas and FP friends move to EA like 5 months ago? You'd think most of those positions would be filled. Wouldn't they have already called old employees they wanted to rehire which I doubt they would or will do anyway.

I love how the remodeling was initially approved but now waiting for final approval. In mattel time final approval will come in 2020 at the earliest and the project won't be done until 2021 or 2022. Sounds like this getting done has about the same chance of happening as a major theatrical barbie movie.

they couldn’t keep the minimum amount of employees needed for the tax breaks & they’re going to reach out to former employees but will most likely hire outside and make folks relocate.

By “world class toy company”, not sure if your talking about Fisher Price or Mattel. :)
