Heard 200 associates were laid off in the Ethics area last week (7/12 +-), since the fraud settlement in Mexico was wrapped up. Anyone effected by that or know anything about that?
Laid off from Legal on June 24th. Had worked 12+ years for Walmart with all good evaluations every year. Enough said online.
So 600 in NC.
150 in legal/marketing
And how many in pharmacy?
Are we down over 2000 higher paying jobs this year?
More fun. In one of the legal groups, 2 males were laid off - one black and one white. The middle aged white male was escorted to the door. The middle aged black male was secretly given a job in another part of legal. The social justice warriors will have a party to celebrate.
GBS should have known it could happen to them. After all it was the creation of GBS that got all the Office Associate positions and some of the backroom associates eliminated in the stores, leaving 1000's of employees in the same situation 3 years ago.
What a joke - hundreds of people were laid off from Legal and Compliance. Lots of demotions and lots of re-orgs. Some attorneys were re-orged and then they have to interview for their jobs. What a toxic and demoralizing place to work. One of the SVP's delivered the news via an email - said she was traveling and was sorry for the "unsettling news".
Supposedly marketing, legal, and compliance...
This doesn’t count the ones in North Carolina. If you are in ISD, systems team, GBS, or heck even the call center, I’d be concerned. It seems like they get hit a lot.
I keep hearing merch ops at home office is ripe for restructuring, too.
Nobody said it did not happen. READ what is written before going off the deep end.
Any specific info? What teams?
What is parpared?
It definitely happened.
I was one of them that got laid off!!! So whoever said there were no layoffs you don't know sh--! There were 16 people laid off in Marking and many in legal! It's true and be parpared it out of the blue!
GBS to be outsourced to genpact accounts for almost 600 people.
There were layoffs in compliance and legal departments on Friday with more to come Monday.
It seems to be teh way of large companies. Individual contributions are not important anymore. its all about making money and its easier and faster just to lay off a whole wing or sector . Seen it where I work. Good GOOD employees were laid off and never called back. its just the way it seems to work in the corporate world.
The 600 or so in NC is just the start. 200 cardboard boxes were recieved sooo...
We are fairly close to Bentonville and didn't hear anything. Where did you get your information? Not saying you are wrong. It just might be that layoffs are so common now that is doesn't make the news or gossip anymore. That would be sad.
