Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Felons

Since when Pepsico started hiring felons? I have 4 felons in my department, recent crimes. Are we that desperate?

I agree I would want to know too..too many places for opportunities for bad things to happen. The dimly lit wooded paths to the parking lots over at HQ is just an example

I was told it was because we can't get enough employees. They are desperate. It is not safe. The more felons they hire, the more good people walk out and the more theft etc happens. I hope you are at a different site than mine. I don't think they should have anyone on the registered s-x offender list or for any violent crimes. They preach about how serious they are about workplace violence. They don't need new examples for their slides. The one with an untucked shirt saying he should be monitored was a joke though. Nobody at my site ever tucks their shirt in. I guess we're all being closely watched for potentially being violent.

"Why the negative reaction to my question? If I'm working next to a rapist I'd like to be aware of it."

This is actually a legitimate concern. I can tell you with 100% truth rapists have been hired on. My wife found out one of our newest hires is a registered s-x offender and demanded I find out how he passed a background check.

I recall more effort being put into screening applicants. Now it seems PepsiCo's only requirement is being a warm body capable of passing a d--g test.

Lol they would rather hire felons than keep displaced employees, a class act.

I agree, you have the right to know who is sitting next to you.

Everyone in your dept should wear stripped shirts one day a week as a team building effort

I frequently see a flyer circulating on local job boards labeling PepsiCo as being "felony friendly". Here, at least, it has encouraged a lot more applicants who have felony charges.
